The community council has arranged another programme of activity classes for the autumn. These start on Wednesday 2 October and run for 10 weeks until Monday 9 December.

There is a full programme of 13 classes, featuring yoga, pilates, chair yoga, gentle keep fit, bootcamp, Zumba, keep fit and gentle circuits, and all our excellent instructors have agreed to return to take the classes. Because of demand, we’ve introduced a second chair yoga class, replacing a yoga session.

Through grants from the Renfrewshire Community Health and Wellbeing Fund, we’re again able to keep the costs at £30 for each 10 week programme. Payment should be made, preferably in cash, when you attend your first class.

Our booking system goes live on Sunday 1 September, and each class is limited to 20 participants, so please try to book early to avoid disappointment. To book, please use this link or alternatively scan the QR code in the community council summer newsletter. You will receive acknowledgement of your booking, and details of your classes, during the week beginning 9 September.

Renfrewshire Council’s consultation on its Pavement Parking traffic order was launched on 14 August 2024 and is open for 28 days from that date, i.e. until 11 September 2024. Further details can be found on the council’s website.

The full traffic order details can found on the TellmeScotland website.

The traffic order specifies lengths of pavement where parking on the pavement will be allowed, despite the national ban. Each location has been chosen after comprehensive assessment of the whole of Renfrewshire’s road network against published Transport Scotland guidance. The consultation is about the proposed locations only. There is no opportunity to add any more locations.

Subject to the successful making of the traffic order, the council’s intention is to implement enforcement of the pavement parking ban in November 2024.
