Ralston Sports Centre CAT appeal

At the end of 2022, Kelburne Hockey Club submitted an appeal against Renfrewshire Council’s decision to reject their Community Asset Transfer request for Ralston Community Sports Centre. The Council’s CAT Review Sub-committee met on 22 March and unanimously decided to uphold the original decision to reject Kelburne’s CAT request. We believe that there will be an article about this in the Paisley Daily Express  on 23 March.

Kelburne have one final option, which is to appeal to the Scottish Government against the decision. It is not yet clear whether Kelburne will pursue this option.

Once again, Ralston Community Council thanks everyone who has worked to retain this valuable asset for the benefit of our community.

Free leisure classes for adults in Ralston

Ralston Community Council has organised a series of free leisure classes for adults, running for 10 weeks from Monday 17 April to Friday 23 June. These classes are being funded by the Renfrewshire Community Health and Wellbeing Fund.

Details of the classes can be found in this leaflet, which is being delivered to all households in Ralston. Places for the courses are limited, so you should sign up as soon as possible. The preferred way to sign up is through the online form. Alternatively, you can email admin@ralstoncommunitycouncil.org.

Ralston Sports Centre CAT appeal

A final decision on Kelburne Hockey Club’s appeal against Renfrewshire Council’s decision to refuse its application for a community asset transfer (CAT) of Ralston Sports Centre to the club will be made by a sub-committee of the council’s Infrastructure, Land and Environment policy board at its meeting on Wednesday 22 March 2023. The meeting will start at 14:00.

This will be an online meeting and therefore it will not be possible for the public to observe the proceedings at the council chambers.  However, the meeting will be live streamed and can be accessed using this link:
